Nuffnang

By now most, if not all of, those in the Malaysian blogosphere would have heard of Nuffnang, a new dot com startup geared specifically towards advertising in blogs with small-to-medium traffic. It is an interesting and innovative concept that Nuffnang has presented, and I will certainly participate in the program with this blog. They have stated in their message that it would take up to 1 - 2 months for the ads to start serving advertisements from the advertisers. I do not mind the wait as long as the technology behind Nuffnang works for both advertisers and bloggers and we certainly have a good feeling about Nuffnang.

In any case, Nuffnang will certainly spice up the blog advertising industry. We will see how well it goes.

Where does it say that it would take up 1-2 months for the ads from advertisers to start showing up? Can’t seem to find that said anywhere on the site?

It’ll be interesting to see how much advertisers are willing to pay for a site with about 20 unique visitors a day (600 a month! damn low!)…considering their blogger qualification is set to above 20 a day. As an advertiser I wouldn’t pay more than RM20 monthly for a site with traffic that low, considering that kind of site is mainly visited just by the blogger’s friends.

    Hey dude.

I truly thank you for your support and for the vote of confidence.

delltroy: unlike other blog networks, we don’t get advertisers to target specific blogs. We aggregate blogs that are too small to stand by themselves (like blogs with 20 unique visits a day), package them with other blogs so that their cumulative visits become significant enough for advertisers to care about. to answer your second question, do check the “Message from the Founders” in the blogger CMS where we explain everything, including why it might take up to 2 months before we start serving ads.

  4. [...] (You can read an interview with RedesignMalaysia.com which was previously featured on Friedbeef.com.  Our competitor, Nuffnang’s idea of packaging all blogs, including blogs with “20 unique visits a day” who are “too small to stand on their own” together as an advertising package sounds good in theory. However, with an average click-through rate of 1-2% globally, this means that Nuffnang advertisers get a raw deal, and will be essentially, paying for a lot of blogs that bring little to zero returns.
