Bla.st

I like this Bla.st website. It is a web directory in essence, but with a twist. You can put up images of card-like sizes and list your site or blog according to tags. Best of all, its free (at least for now). I expect it to be very popular once the next Google PR comes along. For those looking for some exposure, get your site listed on Bla.st before they decide to charge people for it.

Box.net widget

This is a Box.net Widget, it is basically a Flash file which you can upload files such as .jpeg, .mp3, .mpg and .doc and stream or download the file directly from the widget. You can see an example of it below.

Issue on sponsored themes

Seems that there is currently controversy abound on the issue of placing sponsored links in WordPress themes. I am not sure why there are those noisy ones making such a big fuss about an issue which is currently in full swing and practiced by several major internet marketers such as Aviva Directory and GII. I simply don’t get it. Why is a sponsored link, just one sponsored link which is well-placed in the theme, considered as “spam”? It is not that the person who is making the hue-and-cry is going to spend precious time and effort making good and beautiful themes for the community.
