Dangerous exploit in WordPress 2.1.1

For those who have upgraded to WordPress 2.1.1, there is a dangerous exploit in the version that could undermine your blog system and you are advised by the WordPress developers to immediately upgrade to WordPress 2.1.2. According to the WordPress official blog:

If you downloaded WordPress 2.1.1 within the past 3-4 days, your files may include a security exploit that was added by a cracker, and you should upgrade all of your files to 2.1.2 immediately.

Since this was issued by the developers themselves, I advise those who have upgraded to do what they said and upgrade immediately. As usual, you may grab the latest version of WordPress 2.1.2 at their download page. Happy upgrading!

Nuffnang

By now most, if not all of, those in the Malaysian blogosphere would have heard of Nuffnang, a new dot com startup geared specifically towards advertising in blogs with small-to-medium traffic. It is an interesting and innovative concept that Nuffnang has presented, and I will certainly participate in the program with this blog. PPP payments a bit late

We have about 11 payments due to us, and it has been sitting there for three days or so. I wonder what is going on at PPP? I am not worried about being paid because so far PPP has kept their promise and always paid their bloggers. But as a company which is beginning to make an impact on the paid blogging scene, I find it disturbing that they cannot get the payments approved on time. Plus, there is a whole list of pending posts which has yet to be approved by PPP, and its already the end of February!

I think I will just sit tight and wait for them to resolve this issue. If this goes on for a week, I’ll send them a support ticket.
