Guidelines to submit a site to a directory
Having first started a web directory in November 2006 which has now grown to a grand total of three general web directories and three bidding web directories, I must say that being a web directory master has its rewards and remunerations. It is possible to make money from web directories, however that is easier said than done as a lot of work and investment is involved before one can truly reap its benefits. Editorial discretion is also important, as for example a link about “rhinoplasty in Philadelphia” cannot be listed in the “Entertainment” category but should be sorted according to its niche topic, which is “Health”. Spending a few hours a day working on listing descriptions and adding authority websites to the directory will also help in improving its overall quality.
Website promotion
Serious webmasters should learn how to market their website in order to drive traffic to it. A quick search is all it takes to find millions of results for online promotion, but it will not help a lot. However from experience with a Washington DC blepharoplasty, marketing your website by getting your site listed on web directories will help a lot.
So what is a web directory? A web directory is basically like a search engine except that it is edited by humans, therefore the sites on them should be more relevant. Emporium Directory is an example of a general directory which is human-edited and can drive traffic to your website. Submit today!
Mod enhancements soon
We are pleased to announce that visitors to this web directory will soon find several new enhancements in the form of phpLD modifications that will serve to improve our web directory and offer you more services that will make submitting to our web resource a worthwhile endeavour. In calculating the costs of the mods, we find that although they will not cost as much as a North Carolina rhinoplasty, it will still be quite an investment, especially for a small directory like ours. However we feel that this will be worth the effort, as our priority will be to serve our clients first before anyone else.
Look out for the changes in the coming days and if you haven’t already, submit your site to our directory for a review today!
What are MFA sites?
Sometimes you will come across the following line in the directory guidelines when wanting to submit your site to a web directory.
Submissions will be rejected if your website is Made for Google Adsense (MFA) content only…
So what are MFA sites? MFA or Made For Adsense is pages that get traffic with the only purpose of getting others to click on there ad’s. The pages contain little information about one subject and on the top, before any relevant information is displayed you have a lot of advertisements, that most users will probably click on before they reach the few words of real content there is on this page. Some MFA sites advertise their services on Google Adwords and get a click from a user who is interested in the subject, and then the user is taken to a page where the MFA site display their own ads that has a higher pay per click then what the owner of the site displayed his ad for in Google.
Making a MFA site can be profitable for a short period of time, before either Google finds out that the page is spam, or when someone reports the page to Google. I would not recommend creating MFA sites. The same goes for any page that contain mostly affiliate links or sponsor ads. While I certainly do not mind if a page contains ads on it, it should be kept in mind that there should be more content then ads on every page.
Up6 Top Bidders List
Bid for position directories are currently one of the popular methods on the World Wide Web, and there are many web directories which are following this new concept. In order to get a listing in this type of directory, all you have to do is to bid for your link position according to the minimum bid, and add to it in order to improve its position. Basically, the idea behind it is that the more you pay for your link, the higher the position of your link compared to others. There is certainly something alluring about this new way of advertising and we feel that gaining attention and traffic via bid for position directories is certainly around to stay for a long time.
