Upgraded to phpLD 3.2
We have upgraded the Emporium Directory from phpLD version 3.1 to the latest version, which is 3.2. The difference is very subtle, so visitors will not be able to feel the difference. However the new version upgrade comes with various bug fixes and backend upgrades that we hope that will enhance the experience of our clients and visitors. The major change with this upgrade is the Latest Articles feature, which will certainly help with SEO and help search engines spider the directory more effectively with related keywords from the articles in the relevant section. In the coming weeks, we will make additional upgrades to the directory such as a Daily Listings Mod and Deeplinks Mod.
So with all these features in place and what is to come, why are you still wondering whether to submit to our directory?
Alive Directory

To improve your website ranking in SERPs and optimise it for SEO, submitting it to web directories is one of the popular and most efficient method of doing so. Web directories are websites which lists your URLs according to category and is maintained by a human editor. There are manual submission services that would submit to 400 web directories or more for a fee. However, what matters most is quality and not quantity in order for Google and other major search engines to spider your website and index it in their search engines. Therefore in order to achieve this, you should submit to paid web directories which are at least PR4 or more.
Directory Submitter
The main reason for submitting to directories is to obtain backlinks as well as improving on your placement in the search engines such as Google. SEO work is not just about link building or getting San Diego arbitration services, it is also about keywords, site-building and search engine submission. In short, webmasters would need a powerful tool to help them with the many activities they have to perform in their SEO work and submissions to web directories.
I found a great tool for that purpose. Called Directory Submitter, the free version allows you to submit to 360 free web directories and the paid version will allow you to submit to 1500 web directories. That is certainly a lot of backlinks! You can download the free version at the Directory Submitter website.
A niche or general directory?
New directory owners often start with a general web directory instead of a niche directory. The reason is simple: the popularity of a generalised directory is obvious. There is no doubt that a general web directory like Emporium Directory would grow faster than a niche directory. Maintaining a niche directory is just too much work. The directory is certainly growing and already I have two other directories (one is a free directory and the other is a bidding web directory) under my stable but I am starting to think about what will happen if the links like Houston plastic surgeon submitted becomes outdated and the web pages change.
However, you might get more specific visitors and advertisers if you run a niche directory.
Perhaps it would be an idea to turn Emporium Directory into an annual paid directory for featured links and set the links to auto-expire after a year.
Merchant Circle
If you have a online business which has only made its presence on the World Wide Web and would like to attract more visitors/customers to your website, then why not take a look at this online business directory? Introducing Merchant Circle, an online business directory which lists business owners complete with a detailed profile containing their pictures, blogs, coupons and newsletters. Business owners can customise these details, so do not worry if you do not want to divulge too much information about the nature of your business. Categories are arranged according to region so I guess the targeted audience can be easily attracted.
Its intereting to find listings such as this bank in Memphis or this martial arts training school. Its interesting to see how these people have listed their companies in the directory.
